What is the Canadian Experience Class?
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is an immigration stream under the Express Entry system for skilled workers with at least one year of Canadian work experience. CEC applicants are often highly competitive due to their local experience, language ability, and adaptability.
To qualify, individuals must meet the following criteria:
- Possess relevant paid Canadian work experience, including having at least one year (1,560 hours) of full-time, directly relevant work experience within the past three years;
- Have experience in a training, education, experience and responsibilities (TEER) 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation;
- Meet the minimum English and French language test scores;
- Not be inadmissible into Canada; and,
- Intend to live outside of Québec.
Highlights from the June 12, 2025 CEC Draw
IRCC invited 3,000 candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 529. If multiple candidates had the lowest score, IRCC applied the tie-breaking rule, prioritizing those who submitted their profiles before September 28, 2024 at 18:06:46 UTC. If more than one candidate had the lowest score, the cut-off was based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.
This draw continues IRCC’s use of category-based draws to focus on in-Canada candidates who meet specific labour market needs.
