Francophone Community Immigration Pilot
Canada actively encourages French-speaking individuals to immigrate and contribute to the growth of Francophone minority communities through the Francophone Community Immigration Pilot (FCIP). This pilot program is designed to support and strengthen Francophone minority communities across the country, providing skilled workers valuable opportunities to obtain Canadian permanent residence.
At Zohil-Morton Law, we provide expert guidance to French-speaking individuals navigating Canada’s immigration pathways. We ensure a smooth and efficient application process, full compliance with program requirements, and offer dedicated support at every step of the way.

Who Can Apply for the Francophone Community Immigration Pilot (FCIP)?
French-speaking skilled workers and professionals who wish to live and work in Francophone minority communities across Canada may qualify for Canadian permanent residence through the Francophone Community Immigration Pilot (FCIP), provided they meet the following criteria:
- Receive a valid job offer from a designated employer located in a Francophone minority community;
- Possess at least one year (1,560 hours) of directly relevant work experience gained within the past three years;
- Prove language abilities through an approved language test;
- Have relevant Canadian educational credentials or their foreign equivalent, assessed through an educational credential assessment (ECA); and,
- Demonstrate sufficient funds to support your transition and integration into the community.
Depending on an applicant’s specific circumstances, additional criteria may apply.
Participating Francophone Communities
The following communities participate in the FCIP:
- Acadian Peninsula, New Brunswick;
- Sudbury, Ontario;
- Timmins, Ontario;
- Superior East Region, Ontario;
- St. Pierre Jolys, Manitoba; and,
- Kelowna, British Columbia.
Employer Designation and Job Offer Requirements
Corporations must first be designated by a participating community before they can offer job opportunities under the FCIP. To become designated, an employer must complete a community-specific application process and meet established criteria. Additionally, job offers must also meet specific criteria to qualify for permanent residence applications under this program.
Legal Assistance for the FCIP
French-speaking applicants may benefit from the FCIP, which offers a streamlined pathway to Canadian permanent residence.
